What is Physical Therapy Direct Access?

Direct Access to physical therapy is your opportunity to be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist without the need to visit your primary care physician for a prescription or referral for physical therapy services. In other words, the Direct Access law in Pennsylvania allows you to receive care from us without first contacting your doctor, visiting your doctor and paying your doctor a co-pay or office visit – you save time and money simply by visiting us first and directly.

Our therapists at Wilderman and Associates Physical Therapy have completed the required educational components and have passed the certification process for Direct Access.

Most medical insurance plans cover physical therapy appointments covered under Pennsylvania’s Direct Access law. If you’re not sure if your insurance covers these types of visits, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to contact your insurance provider and help you find out.
